Having heard a lot of good things about this monofin, I was looking forward to try it out! The Finis Trainer Monofin are created primarily for pool training and are of medium stiffness.
At first looks the fin looks a little shabby, but then again it's just my opinion and you should never judge a fin by its looks. I liked the stiffness however! Not to stiff and not to soft, just perfect for both newbies and more advanced swimmers who can put in some more power.
I liked the footpockets, perfect fit and they were very comfortable which is important to avoid blisters. If the fin dosnt fit it can really ruin your dive, so a tight fit is alfa and omega when it comes to monofins.
The first five laps in the pool went great and it didn't take long before the fin felt natural and I started enjoying the training. However, once I began to manoeuvre around in the pool I found that the monofin can be quite difficult to steer and it will require some experience to steer this fin.
I really wanted to take the fin to the ultimate test, so I took it for a spin in the ocean and it performed very well, even though it stil gave me some steering difficulties
If you are looking for a good training fin, then this fin is for you! However you wont be able to play around in the pool. But for laps and depth diving this fin performes great.
The Finis Trainer
Monofin was developed for doing laps in the pool and it keeps its promise. A great fin at a great price.
